CASPER, Wyo. — Four Kelly Walsh High School students performed their version of a popular song mashup during a school holiday show.
The amusing routine was meant to entertain the crowd while the school choir changed positions between performances, but the resulting video shot by a parent has generated millions of views in less than 24 hours.
“They did this rendition of ‘Feliz Navidad’ as an in-between act at the Kelly Walsh High School Winter Choir concert last night,” said Adrienne Barclay in a message to Oil City News on Wednesday. Barclay is the mother of one of the performers, Owen LaCount. The other performers were Roman Gaddis, Coulter Cloward, and Wyatt Bhuler.
“Several of the parents took video of the hilarious act, but one parent posted a clip of part of her video on [TikTok].”
The clip went viral almost immediately, she said, earning more than 3.4 million views, 758,000 likes, and nearly 3,800 comments.
The song is a mashup featuring the music of Jose Feliciano’s 1970 classic “Feliz Navidad” alongside the lyrics to the hip-hop mainstay “Low” by Flo Rida and T-Pain.
The clever mashup appears to have originated with musician Salvador Peralta, who posted “Feliz Bottom Jeans” to YouTube last year. The spoof, which manages to sound strikingly similar to Feliciano’s original, has become a favorite among TikTok users.
“Everyone was very shocked by the amount of attention it has received,” said Barclay, who didn’t know about the act her son and his friends were practicing until the concert on Tuesday.
“It had the whole audience in an uproar at the concert,” she said.

In a related note, T-Pain will be performing along with Warren G and Snoop Dogg during a Casper stop on the “Holidaze of Blaze” tour next Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Ford Wyoming Center.
